Development Officer

Peterborough / Remote

£35,708 - £37.588 per annum

Join Cross Keys Homes as a Development Officer and help deliver high-quality, affordable homes that transform lives. This an excellent opportunity for someone who has a relevant background in the housing sector and/or is interested in furthering their career and expanding their skills in the development of affordable housing.

The role involves regular travel and working on construction sites supporting Development Managers in delivering our Development Strategy to provide over 1,000 homes ensuring each project meets the needs of our customers and residents.

What You’ll Do
  • Adopt a project management approach to the delivery of new homes to ensure they are delivered in a timely and transparent manner, within budget and that meet our residents’ expectations.

  • Develop partnerships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure that new homes are delivered and meet our quality, affordability and sustainability objectives.

  • To liaise with lawyers, planners, quantity surveyors, employer’s agents, architects and other property professionals and house-builder partners to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

  • Attend site meetings, monitor progress, and support issue resolution.

  • To report regularly and frequently on progress with schemes, including Health and Safety, project costs, quality standards and programme, for internal stakeholders and external stakeholders, such as Homes England.

  • Work closely with all departments to ensure that new homes are handed over efficiently with all relevant paperwork and any defects are successfully resolved.

  • Prepare pre and post-handover documentation to ensure timely sales and occupation, ensuring accurate records are kept and documents filed ready for any legal, funding or compliance audit requirements.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve the delivery of home and the customer journey.

  • Support the identification and appraisal of new business opportunities, including site acquisitions and regeneration projects using ProVal and Sequel.

  • Assist in the process of bidding for and managing grant funding timetables through the Homes England IMS system.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in project management within housing or construction.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Knowledge of development processes, planning, and construction methods.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial modelling tools.

  • Background in surveying, architecture, or a related technical field.

  • Working towards a degree or professional qualification in a construction-related discipline.

  • Full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use.
