The School and Role

We are seeking a hardworking and creative Design Technology Teacher to join a progressive secondary school in September. The successful Design Technology Teacher will join a forward-thinking team in a school that is part of a well-established Multi-Academy Trust. High expectations are set for all students, and the school is committed to removing barriers to learning.

This is a Design Technology Teacher position on a temp-to-perm basis. After an initial 18-week period, the school intends to offer the Design Technology Teacher a permanent contract.

Following a successful OFSTED inspection in October 2024, the school was praised for its positive culture. Students reported feeling happy, safe, and respected, making it a fantastic environment for a Design Technology Teacher looking to make a real difference.

Requirements

The desired Design Technology Teacher will:

  • Plan, deliver and teach Textiles, Food Tech and Product Design lessons and sequences at both KS4 and KS5.
  • Ensure that all students make progress through monitoring and supporting individual children and teaching groups.
  • Promote and support the inclusion of students, including those with specific needs.
  • Have effective communication skills, be reliable and hardworking individual.
