Design Lead - Water Sector

Location: Manchester (UK) | Contract: Permanent | Hours: Full Time

About the Role

Our client, a leading design-and-build engineering business, is expanding their team following appointment to a major AMP8 framework with United Utilities. As a Design Lead, you'll deliver multi-disciplinary design on major water and wastewater projects that improve environmental outcomes across the North West.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multi-disciplinary design delivery across projects/programmes
  • Manage and mentor a team of civil, mechanical, electrical and process designers
  • Develop affordable, low‑carbon technical solutions
  • Oversee detailed designs, ensuring quality, cost and programme compliance
  • Maintain strong client relationships and drive best‑value engineering solutions
About You
  • Degree in Engineering
  • Chartered/Inc. (ICE, IMechE etc.) or equivalent experience
  • Experience in water/wastewater design and CDM 2015 responsibilities
  • Strong technical expertise and cross-discipline awareness
  • Willingness to travel across the region
  • Proactive and pragmatic approach
