Job description

We are looking for a full time Qualified Early Years Educator to join our Hove Village Bloomsbury Street team as the Deputy Manager.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or other full and relevant Early Years qualification)
  • At least 2 years' post qualifying experience, including elements of staff development, management and operations in an early years setting
  • Working knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and its implementation, and Ofsted requirements
  • Working knowledge of relevant child safety, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures
  • Excellent communication skills to both internal and external audiences
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children

Key Areas and Responsibilities
  • To support the Nursery Management in providing high quality care and learning experiences
  • To support the Nursery Management in all aspects of the daytoday business and administrative practices, e.g., Maintaining records on the children and their families, keeping accurate and up to date personnel records, ordering equipment, maintaining inventory etc.
  • Provide highquality care and education to children aged 05
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
  • To support the team to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop
  • To continually research and reflect on practices in the industry to ensure that outstanding practice is always implemented
  • Ensure that all correct policies, procedures and practices are adhered to
  • Understand the safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures for the setting and local authority procedures
  • To deliver staff personal development reviews and supervision when required
  • Support the selection and recruitment of balanced staff team, using safe recruitment policies and procedures
  • Observe and assess children's development, identifying any areas of concern
  • Collaborate with parents and other staff members to support children's individual needs
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development
  • Ensure the nursery is clean, organized, and wellmaintained at all times
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of all children
