Job description

At Bright Futures, everything circles back to one belief : every person with autism or a learning disability deserves the chance to thrive. Our specialist home in Stockton Heath, Warrington provides high-quality care, education and life-enriching opportunities, delivered by teams who are as skilled as they are compassionate.

Job Role

Our Stockton Heath service is one of Bright Futures’ most established adult homes, made up of two properties, Bridgewell and Coach House, just a short walk from the busy village centre. The homes offer a warm, structured and community-focused setting where adults are supported to feel safe, settled and engaged both day and night.

The individuals we support each have their own routines, interests and communication needs, and staff play an important role in helping them enjoy the activities they love – whether that’s walking, sports, music, Disney films, reading, games, family time, or trips into the community.

As Deputy Manager, you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the homes, supporting the Registered Manager and being a visible, positive presence across both services. You will provide hands-on leadership, maintain clear communication, and support the team to deliver consistent, high-quality and person-centred care. You’ll help coordinate shifts, guide and mentor staff, and confidently step in when the Registered Manager is off duty. Overall, you’ll champion a safe, supportive and home-like environment where adults feel understood, respected and genuinely at home.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in the smooth day‑to‑day running of the home, providing clear leadership and direction to the staff team.
  • Guide, mentor and organise staff to deliver consistent, person‑centred care, ensuring plans, routines and safeguarding standards are followed.
  • Maintain strong communication, accurate recording and effective handovers within the home and with external professionals.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and safe culture, stepping in confidently when the Registered Manager is off duty and making decisions when required.
  • Support continuous improvement of the home, encouraging teamwork, reflective practice and high‑quality standards across all areas.
What we’re looking for
  • Previous experience at Senior Support Worker level (or equivalent) within a care setting, with confidence leading or mentoring a team.
  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is essential, with a willingness to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership.
  • Warm, person‑centred approach with strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.
  • Calm, proactive and resilient, able to make decisions, uphold safe practice and support high standards within the home.
  • Flexibility to meet service needs, including participation in sleep‑in duties on a rota basis.
Salary & Benefits
  • £39,538.43 (dependent on experience and 1 sleep‑in per week)
  • Healthcare Cashback (dental, optical, physio, wellbeing)
  • Care Friends Referral rewards up to £1000 (£2000 for leadership roles)
  • Bright Stars bonus scheme & Employee of the Month awards
  • Free Meals on Shift
  • Life Assurance Policy – 2x salary
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
