Role: Depot Manager

Location: Walsall

Contract type: Full time, permanent

Carrier Rental Systems, part of the global Carrier Corporation, operates throughout the UK and worldwide, 24/7 and 365 days a year, providing a range of market-leading rental products to a variety of clients and industries.

About the role

The role is to proactively and engagingly lead and manage the depot and its team, ensuring the highest standards of EHS and presentation. You will be responsible for optimising the availability and utilisation of rental assets, driving operational excellence, and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture. This includes maintaining regular and thorough communication, demonstrating hands‑on, visible, and engaging leadership, and motivating the team to achieve both safety and operational objectives.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing the day-to-day running of depot office and administration teams (hire desk, contracts administration, logistics, general administration).
  • Being involved in the running of the workshop and engineer management.
  • Ensuring all systems and records are well maintained with high levels of data entry accuracy.
  • Overseeing the office and administration teams, supporting accordingly, and conducting monthly mentor sessions.
  • Ensuring adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures. To be fully conversant and compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
  • Holding regular team meetings and attending weekly depot meetings.
  • Promoting the highest standards of customer service and continuous improvement.
  • Working closely with the wider depot network, service department, and sales teams.
  • Acting quickly when problems arise and establishing an open system of communication to ensure consistent treatment of issues.
  • Overseeing the overall invoice dispute logs and query resolution.
  • Fully complying with all Quality, Environmental Health and Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting, Safety Commitments, RAMS, ACE.
