  • SMSTS essential.
  • Strong demolition and civils management background.
  • Experience running multi-site demolition programmes.
  • Excellent knowledge of HSE legislation and technical standards.
  • Confident managing teams, budgets, and client relationships.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage demolition and enabling works across multiple live sites.
  • Oversee building demolition, industrial strip-out, and underground service decommissioning.
  • Plan project sequencing and safe systems of work.
  • Prepare and review RAMS and compliance packs.
  • Manage supervisors and civils teams.
  • Provide progress reporting and programme updates.
  • Build relationships with clients and authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Support tendering and project handover.

Overview

SEDR Recruitment is seeking an experienced Demolition / Civils Manager to lead multiple demolition, enabling works, and below-ground service removal projects across Scotland and the North of England. This senior role requires strong operational oversight, multi-site leadership, technical planning, and deep demolition / civils expertise.

With significant travel and responsibility for project delivery and workforce coordination, the successful applicant will be a highly capable leader familiar with fast-paced, safety-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage demolition and enabling works across multiple live sites
  • Oversee building demolition, industrial strip-out, pipework removal, and underground service decommissioning
  • Plan project sequencing, resources, and safe systems of work
  • Prepare and review RAMS, permits, temporary works documentation, and compliance packs
  • Manage supervisors, civils teams, subcontractors, and plant allocation
  • Provide progress reporting, programme updates, and cost-management input
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, engineers, and local authorities
  • Ensure works meet CCDO, BS 6187, HSG47 / HSG150, and CDM requirements
  • Support tendering, pre-construction reviews, and project handover
