Position Description

At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Demand Planner - UK & APAC to join the Data Center Power and Control Division Starline Team. This position is based in Reading, UK. The role is responsible for leading and managing Demand Planning functions across Starline EMEA and AP in the Data, Power and Control Sector (DPC). The incumbent should be able to lead both in a matrix and direct organization. The key objectives are to develop an S&OP strategy that supports the business, along with inventory strategies to support growth, improve working capital, and reduce E&O. The leader will also drive Legrand's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals within supply chain processes.

The candidate will use our ERP system (Syteline), Demand Planning (Anaplan), and CRM (Salesforce.com); maintain effective inventory levels (finished or components) to meet customer orders and business needs; monitor production commitments and commitment dates in ERP and CRM; provide a watchdog function to ensure customer commitments are met; develop tools to provide day-to-day visibility on commitment status; leverage ERP and SFDC to maintain product flow. The position reports to the Global Demand Planning Manager.

What Will You Do?

S&OP

  • Responsible for driving a robust global S&OP process across the Starline business.
  • Lead standardization of inventory positions and incorporate them into the S&OP process to support supply decisions.

Demand Forecasting

  • Develop, refine, and maintain accurate demand forecasts for products, using historical data, market trends, and input from sales teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and insights to improve forecast accuracy.

Inventory Management

  • Optimize inventory levels globally to ensure product availability while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Monitor and manage inventory turnover, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and propose solutions.

Supply Planning

  • Work with procurement and production teams to align supply plans with demand forecasts.
  • Ensure production schedules and procurement activities meet demand requirements.

Data Analysis

  • Use advanced analytical tools to assess historical data, identify patterns, and generate forecasts.
  • Regularly analyze sales data, market trends, and other information to adjust forecasts as needed.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Foster strong relationships and open communication with sales, production, and procurement teams.
  • Support functional leads and manufacturing leads to optimize the Supply Chain footprint to address cost and service targets.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to align on demand and supply plans.
  • Ensure adherence to service metrics: On Time Performance, Lead Time, and Voice of the Customer.
Qualifications

Required Skills

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with emphasis in Supply Chain Management or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or related field.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of related experience in the supply chain function, preferably in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment. APICS Basic Certification or ongoing certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a demand planner or similar role in supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated leadership with strategic and operational skills to lead transformational change.
  • Experience in running end-to-end S&OP process.
  • Inventory management knowledge is essential.
  • Understanding of demand planning within ERP systems.
  • Experience navigating cross-business complex organizational needs and requirements.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Experience in supply chain management, including planning in an ERP/CRM environment.
  • Proven ability to drive inventory/working capital strategies, lead time responsiveness, and customer service levels.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain.
  • Strong systems/process orientation with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to sustain results through systems.
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced SLA environment; proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Data mining proficiency: ability to extract, clean, and manipulate data from multiple sources to generate insights.
  • Ability to lead strategically, while also detailing processes and data to build business cases and drive root-cause and corrective actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly collaborative and able to work in a matrix environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and logical/methodical thinking applied to problems.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel globally.
  • Proficiency in negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Results-driven with integrity and commitment.
  • Self-driven and able to work with minimal supervision.
