A leading general insurance firm in the UK seeks a Delegated Authority Specialist to manage delegated authority binder arrangements. The role involves ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and driving operational efficiencies. Ideal candidates will have trading experience in insurance or broking, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record in a regulated environment. As a Delegated Authority Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing and developing delegated authority binder arrangements, ensuring NFU Mutual delivers sustainable, profitable insurance solutions for our customers. Reporting to the Binding Authority Manager and based at our Head Office, you’ll act as the senior point of contact for underwriting referrals, ensuring all policies and quotes adhere to delegated authority and supply chain contractual requirements.
You’ll support the management, monitoring, and review of our supply chain, helping to deliver long-term partnerships and exploring opportunities for future co-insurance capacity. You’ll advise on the delivery of delegated binding authorities, source new arrangements to meet evolving customer needs, and ensure compliance with NFU Mutual principles and regulatory frameworks.
A key part of your role will be to research and report on electronic trading portals, driving operational efficiencies and enhancing the customer journey. You’ll also deliver technical product knowledge and training, ensuring high-quality service for both internal and external customers.
This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”. With significant trading experience in a market-facing insurance or broking role, you bring strong technical expertise in commercial lines and a proven ability to deliver results in a regulated environment. You’re an effective negotiator and influencer, with experience leading underwriting or broking teams and driving performance through others.
