Overview

Our independent freight forwarding client who provides international logistics services, is currently looking for an experienced Import Seafreight Operator to join their team in Basildon.

As Import Seafreight Operator, a typical will involve coordinating the complete operational cycle of business from booking with carriers to invoice reconciliation, revenue and costs.

You'll be liaising with customers, customs authorities and third party contacts. Ensuring customs clearance documents are in order, collecting relevant documentation ready for release/delivery of cargo, invoicing and securing payments.

Import Seafreight Operator duties

• FCL Transport booking; both Line and Merchant
• Awareness of credit levels for accounts prior to delivery
• Accurate Duty and VAT invoicing
• Offering Customers Deliveries within free time upon quay
• Collating clearance documentation to present to our inhouse clearance department
• Tracking ETA\'s via shipping line websites

Requirements

We\'re keen to speak to people with 3+ years\' experience handling FCL sea freight imports, with Destin 8 / Compass knowledge. Customs clearance ability would also be a distinct advantage.

Applicants should be self-motivated, computer literate, and have excellent attention to detail skills, as well as being good with numbers and a confident communicator.

Compensation

In return, the successful Import Seafreight Operator will be offered up to £35,000, in line with skills and experience.
