A healthcare provider in Walsall seeks a dedicated Decontamination Supervisor to oversee the decontamination process for medical devices. You will manage a team of Decontamination Technicians, ensuring compliance with quality standards and overseeing training efforts. The post holder will be required to undertake supervisory duties within the decontamination science discipline and oversee the workforce of Decontamination Technicians in HSDU and EDU, providing a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient. To carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing and where required sterilisation of reusable medical devices. Record all tasks in the Trust tracking and tracing system. Work in accordance with the Department's Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems. To provide supervision and oversee training of new staff and Apprentice Decontamination Technicians within the team. Plan your own workload with limited supervision. The role involves exposure to blood and body fluids.
Undertake a range of duties within both Decontamination units at the Hospital, the Hospital Sterilisation and Decontamination Unit (HSDU) and Endoscope Decontamination unit (EDU).
