Job summary

A leading technology consultancy in Inverness is looking for a skilled data analyst to design and maintain Power BI dashboards. The successful candidate will automate workflows, develop secure data models, and provide technical support for Microsoft 365 tools, contributing to data-driven decision-making and improving operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modelling).
  • Understanding of Office 365 tools (Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and interpret requirements.
  • Implement and manage Power Automate flows for task automation.

Job description
Position Summary

This role will contribute to the organisation’s data-driven decision-making by designing and maintaining insightful Power BI dashboards, automating workflows using Power Automate, and developing secure data models within Dataverse. This role provides hands-on experience in data analytics and digital process improvement within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement across business functions.

Key Deliverables
  • Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to enable data-driven decision-making across business functions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and interpret requirements, translating them into effective and scalable data solutions.
  • Implement and manage Power Automate flows to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain secure, scalable data models using Dataverse to support Power Platform applications and ensure data integrity.
  • Provide technical support and deliver user training sessions to enhance adoption and effective use of Power BI and Power Platform tools.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies, maintaining high standards of data quality, security and accessibility.
  • Integrate data from diverse sources including SharePoint, Excel, SQL and cloud-based systems to create unified reporting solutions.
  • Monitor Microsoft 365 updates and recommend enhancements or new capabilities to improve business intelligence and automation outcomes.

Qualifications and Work Experience:

  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Desirable: Internship or academic project experience in data analysis or Power Platform tools

Job Specific Knowledge:

  • Essential: Experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modelling).
  • Essential: Understanding of Office 365 tools (Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook).
  • Desirable: Familiarity with Azure Data Services, Python or R for analytics.
