Job description

Morgan Hunt are working with a public sector organisation in Dundee to recruit a Data Systems Analyst on a permanent basis. The role is based in their Dundee office, on a hybrid working model doing 2 days per week in the office. Ideally, the candidate will come from a background in the public sector, but this is not essential.

The role is looking for someone who comes from a technical background and has moved into the business analysis side.

Key Responsibilities

• Help shape the organisation's business systems strategy to align with the company goals.
• Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of business systems projects, ensuring requirements are met and solutions are delivered on time.
• Play a hands‑on role in implementing software solutions that meet business needs and improve efficiency.
• Design and implement system processes and integrations that drive automation and operational efficiency.
• Research and recommend new technologies or solutions that add value to the organisation.
• Analyse complex data to identify trends, improve processes, and support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Plan and manage system upgrades, ensuring ongoing functionality, compliance, and prompt issue resolution.
• Investigate, escalation, and resolve technical issues efficiently, collaborating with external vendors when necessary.

Experience Required

• Solid understanding of SQL for MS SQL Server databases.
• Report Production within SQL Server Reporting Services and data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
• Use of process automation tools.
• Experience of developing via the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Experience creating user friendly, accessible user interfaces.
• Data governance.

Up to £41k per year plus benefits.

Permanent position.

Hybrid working (2 days per week in Dundee office).
