Data Solutions Architect – GCP

London, UK | Hybrid | Permanent £90K - £120K Salary + Benefits and Bonus

We’re partnering with a global leader in data, AI, and digital transformation, trusted by Fortune 500 clients across banking, insurance, healthcare, retail, and more. Wit thousands of employees worldwide, this consultancy helps enterprises modernise data platforms, unlock growth, and accelerate cloud journeys.

Right now, they’re looking for an experienced Data Solutions Architect (GCP) to join their Data Management practice.

This is a strategic, client-facing role at the intersection of technology, consulting, and business transformation. You’ll lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale data platforms (lakes, lakehouses, warehouses) on GCP and influence senior stakeholders on cloud strategy, data modernisation, and advanced analytics. Expect to spend ~40–50% of your time in pre-sales engagements (RFPs/RFIs, workshops, solution blueprints), while also shaping solution strategies, guiding delivery teams, and acting as a trusted advisor to CDOs, CIOs, and Heads of Data.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise solution design on GCP, BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake
• Drive cloud migration & modernisation strategies (Terraform, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, GitHub)
• Define enterprise data models (ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner)
• Architect ETL/ELT frameworks & pipelines (Dataflow, Dataproc, Informatica, etc.)
• Implement governance & quality frameworks (Unity Catalog, Profisee, Alation, DQ Pro)
• Engage clients at C-suite level to shape roadmaps & business cases
• Mentor and inspire global delivery teams while building internal capability

Qualifications

• 10+ years in BI/Data Warehousing & analytics, with 4+ years in solution/technical architecture
• Strong banking domain expertise (essential) and insurance knowledge (advantage)
• Proven track record in enterprise data modelling (3–5 years minimum)
• Practical knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
• Hands-on experience with GCP, plus Azure/AWS exposure
• Strong leadership & consulting skills with experience in client-facing roles
• Cloud certifications (GCP/Azure/AWS) are highly desirable
