Grade A: £55,172 (National Framework) or £61,028 (London Framework – if you are London office based or homebased and live within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £600 per annum for those working from home. For exceptional candidates a higher salary may be available.

Contracted Hours: Full time 37 hours per week.

Picture this

Imagine leading a team that builds and supports enterprise data solutions, enabling CQC to deliver high-quality insights that improve care for many. The CQC’s cloud-based Enterprise Data Platform is built on Microsoft Azure, using Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to deliver governed data and analytics capabilities.

As the Data Platform Lead in Data Platforms & Solutions, you will get the chance to:

  • Drive the development of a robust, cloud-based data platform that supports a wide range of data, analytics, data science, AI and insight needs.
  • Lead the technical direction, governance and sustainability of the CQC’s Enterprise Data Platform, ensuring it delivers reliable, high- quality services and long-term value.
The role

You’ll play an important part in delivering our mission. In this role, you’ll:

  • Shape the roadmap: Work with senior leaders across the organisation to prioritise data and analytical tooling demands and align resources to deliver maximum value.
  • Build capability: Champion technical excellence and innovation by promoting the effective use of technologies to build modern data capabilities.
  • Define platform strategy: Build and maintain effective relationships with data technology vendors and commercial partners to ensure platform services evolve in line with the CQC’s regulatory and insight needs.

  • Experience delivering cloud-based data solutions: Demonstrate how you’ve designed and implemented data platforms or services using modern technologies.
  • Proven leadership in technical development: Share examples of managing teams and projects to deliver complex data products or solutions.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions: Show how you’ve worked with stakeholders to turn requirements into sustainable, high-quality outcomes.
