Job description
Overview

Would you like to kick start your career in a supportive, collaborative and innovative company? Do you enjoy working as part of an enthusiastic, passionate, and collaborative team? Join our Service Development team!

Softcat's Service Development team is in place to design, develop, introduce, enhance, and communicate the IT services that we offer our customers. The role of the Programme Team is to build new services in line with the Product Team's designs, and to act as a bridge across multiple departments to ensure the service can be released into the portfolio on time and to the right standard, with the best chance of success.

Success. The Softcat Way.

It's an exciting time to be at Softcat, one of the UK\'s most successful technology solutions businesses. We help customers to use technology to succeed, by putting our employees first. We\'ve reached the £1 billion+ revenue milestone, opened our first office outside the UK and picked up a series of industry awards. We\'ve got even bigger plans for the future. So, if you share our drive and ambition, get ready to achieve more from your career.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the creation, release and enhancement of the services in the Technology Tower you work within.
  • Using principles from both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies appropriately (including the creation of project plans) to lead cross-functional service project teams to deliver services on time and to the highest standards for our customers.
  • Creating and maintaining the service documentation for the services you manage (such as the Service Description and the information needed by Marketing and Sales Enablement for launch).
  • Collaborating closely with the relevant Service Development Product Manager to ensure you have a thorough understanding of each service in your Technology Tower, including its goals, features and the vision behind it.
  • Assuring the Service Architecture quality of each service you manage, ensuring that the business processes, commercial model, contract pack and service features are accurate, robust, and well communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Acting as the key point of contact within the business for the services you manage.
What we’d love you to have
  • Experience working within an organisation focused on services (preferably IT services).
  • Experience working on service documentation (e.g. Service Descriptions) would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Ability to balance work priorities, organise own workload, work with minimal supervision, work under pressure to meet deadlines, and respond quickly to new situations and changing priorities.
  • A commitment to high standards of quality in everything you do, including strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable experience of working on fast-paced, Agile-delivered projects and of the “fail-fast” approach.
  • A can-do attitude to resolving challenges which threaten project progress.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships within a team made up of many different roles.

We also acknowledge that the confidence gap and imposter syndrome are a real thing and can get in the way of us meeting fantastic talent, so please don\'t hesitate to apply – we would love to hear from you!
