Position

Customs Administrative Assistant, Harwich, Mon‑Fri, 37.5 hours per week.

What will you be doing?
  • Onboarding and looking after new customers who have a shipment booked with DSV.
  • Communicating via emails and phone calls & offering a good customer service.
  • Ensuring Direct Representation agreements are accurately completed, signed, and valid prior to submitting customs declarations.
  • Creating customer profiles on our system where customs declarations are submitted.
  • Requesting debtor accounts for new customers to ensure that they can be billed for customs charges.
  • Running reports in Microsoft Excel.
  • Monitoring & also manually raising VAT & DUTY invoices to make sure they are created and sent to customers in a timely manner.
About You
  • Experience in Microsoft programmes such as Outlook & Excel.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Entry level knowledge of customs and a will to learn about the industry.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and well‑organised.
  • Ability to learn new systems and software quickly.
  • Excellent time management skills.
