Job description

Customer Service Team Manager who has previous experience managing and leading a high-performing customer service team, delivering exceptional service, is required for a well-established, award-winning company based in Bedford, Bedfordshire.

SALARY: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum + Generous Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid Working from Home and 2 Days per Week in the Office in Bedford, Bedfordshire (MK44)

Candidates MUST live within a commutable distance to Bedford.

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 40 Hours per Week, 8:30am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Customer Service Team Manager who has previous experience managing and leading a high-performing customer service team, delivering exceptional service.

As the Customer Service Team Manager, you will lead and inspire your dedicated Customer Service Team who support candidates through their background screening journey on behalf of your clients, enabling them to make informed long-term recruitment decisions.

Your role is pivotal in ensuring exceptional service standards, leveraging technology for a seamless customer experience, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

DUTIES

Your duties include:

  • Leading a customer-focused team to deliver outstanding service, incorporating feedback to enhance satisfaction and loyalty, leveraging technology to elevate human interactions, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Coaching and developing team members to exceed customer expectations and achieve operational goals.
  • Utilising information to drive a one-team approach to improve service and operations for clients.
  • Motivating the team to resolve complex or emotive service challenges with empathy, urgency, and professionalism, always striving for positive resolutions.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience leading a high-performing customer service team across multiple high-volume touchpoints (phone, chat, email), managing KPIs and SLAs effectively.
  • Strong experience in people management, coaching, performance reviews, and fostering team motivation.
  • Ability to work on a hybrid basis from the Bedford office, with in-office collaboration required.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in Background Screening, HR, HR Tech, or recruitment services sector.
  • Familiarity with customer service platforms such as Freshdesk, HubSpot, or Zendesk.
