Overview

Pertemps are delighted to be working with our public sector client to recruit for Customer Service Advisor on a temporary basis.

Role: Customer Service Advisor
Location: Edinburgh Southwest
Duration: Temporary, ongoing
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
Pay rate: £14.02 per hour
Start date: Immediate

Responsibilities
  • Welcoming customers and managing the front desk area
  • Handing out paperwork for taxi inspections and MOT tests
  • Applying licences and permits to vehicles
  • Checking customer ID and scanning required documentation
  • Carrying out basic admin duties, including scanning and filing
  • Answering general enquiries regarding MOTs, taxi tests, and licensing (Note: you will not be permitted to assist with test questions)
  • Providing clear communication and assistance to customers, including those who may not have English as their first language
  • Managing queue systems and helping maintain calm in a small, sometimes busy office space
  • De-escalating conflicts with patience and professionalism when necessary
Qualifications

  • A calm, friendly, and professional manner - especially under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role is desirable
  • Comfortable using office equipment (scanner, printer, basic computer systems)

Due to the nature of this role, the ability to remain impartial and avoid providing assistance with test content is essential. You\'ll be the first point of contact for many of our customers, so a welcoming, respectful approach is key.
