About the role

As a Driver Trainee Installer, you will be supported through our 12-month trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer with a C1 driving licence. Once you're fully trained, you'll have the unique opportunity of bringing our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' door and installing the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, large electrical appliances, sound systems and TV sets) as part of a 2-person delivery crew. The role requires you to be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
  • Help load up your lorry with the day's deliveries, working alongside the warehouse team.
  • Demonstrate respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
  • Install products efficiently and clearly demonstrate how they work once installed.
  • Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform your role at your best.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
  • UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face to face.
  • Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds and mattresses).
  • Passion for technology and installation.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
  • Previous experience of installation and customary delivery driving.

Full-time, working 41 hours per week over 4 days on a 5 week rota. Weekend working required, 3 in 5 Saturdays.
