Job Summary

CT/MRI Radiographer, Band 6, Cumberland Infirmary, up to 34.5 hours per week

The Department of Radiology at the Cumberland Infirmary is part of the North Cumbria Radiology Directorate, providing general radiography, fluoroscopy, dental, angio (including coronary), CT, MRI and ultrasound services. The directorate performs around 230 000 examinations per year, serving an acute district general hospital with 24‑hour emergencies and primary care referrals. The team includes consultant radiologists, professional lead, radiographers up to Band 8, nurses, admin & clerical staff, porters and radiology support.

Main duties of the job

Work within the 24‑hour MR and CT service team, playing a major role in the practical training of radiographers, students and other staff. Take responsibility for daily service organisation, adjusting workload and schedules for emergencies, and ensuring the wellbeing and positive experience of patients and carers. Participate in research and propose audit areas to improve service quality.
