The post is for 37.5 hours per week; part-time hours will be considered. Candidates should have a flexible approach to their working hours as this contract will be flexible across 7 days, including evenings, weekends, nights, stand-by and across multiple sites. WWL offers cross sectional imaging across 3 sites which includes Wrightington, Wigan and our new state of the art Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Leigh Infirmary. Our portfolio includes 4 Siemens CT scanners and 3 Siemens MRI 1.5T wide bore scanners across all sites and a new 3T MRI at the Wrightington site in 2025. You must have proven experience of an extensive range of MRI and/or CT procedures and a demonstrable high level of MRI and/or CT scanning knowledge. It is essential to have recent NHS experience. You should have evidence of ongoing CPD activities incorporating current advances in both CT and MRI. The role will require you to work across all areas in the Trust which includes those that are designated as positive, asymptomatic and negative COVID wards.

  • Perform such duties as will assist in the provision of an effective and efficient diagnostic imaging service, primarily within CT and MRI.
  • Undertake interchangeable working between the MRI and CT departments following completion of the relevant in-house training programmes, demonstrating a flexible approach to work, in line with the requirements of future service developments and expansion of services.
  • Participate in the out of hours CT standby service to cover the CT night service in the event of unplanned sickness.
  • Work flexible hours to meet the demands of the service across 7 days and multiple sites, this will also include night shift rotation.
  • Work within the CT/MRI department, providing leadership and training to more junior staff.
