Qualifications

Job description

Salary: £27,000 per annum depending on experience

Location: Head Office, Mayfield

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused Credit Controller to join our busy Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a growing business where you can really make an impact on cashflow and customer relationships.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Take ownership of your own customer ledger, including managing overdue balances, placing accounts on/off stop, setting up payment plans, and issuing debt-chasing letters.
  • Accurately record and allocate all incoming payments.
  • Set up new customer accounts and perform credit checks to assess risk.
  • Work closely with dedicated Account Managers to chase payments and resolve any customer queries.
  • Monitor unallocated payments and arrange internal transfers where required.
  • Produce weekly and monthly debtor reports for management.
  • Support the Accounts Receivable Manager by attending meetings, suggesting process improvements, and ensuring credit control procedures are followed.
What We’re Looking For
  • You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a credit control or similar finance role.
  • Strong numeracy skills and great attention to detail.
  • A credit control qualification would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (experience with Dynamics would be a bonus).
  • The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team-player mindset and a willingness to support process improvement.
