GSL Education are currently seeking proactive and dependable Cover Supervisors for flexible day-to-day work in schools across Wombwell. As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain on task and complete the work set.

Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:

  • Supervise pupils in the absence of their teacher, using pre-set work.
  • Ensure a safe and positive learning environment is maintained.
  • Encourage student engagement and manage behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Provide feedback to teachers about pupil progress and classroom experiences.

Requirements for Cover Supervisor:

  • Previous experience in an educational setting or working with young people is desirable.
  • A confident and resilient approach to classroom management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with any employment gaps explained.
