A local educational institution in West Bromwich is seeking a Cover Supervisor to oversee classes during teacher absences. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, experience in supporting children's learning, and the ability to promote a positive learning environment. Responsibilities include implementing work programs and providing feedback to students, ensuring every lesson is an opportunity to learn. An enhanced DBS check is required.
Phoenix is looking for a Cover Supervisor with the enthusiasm, creativity and ability to engage and motivate students. The role is integral to the smooth operation of the school and the enhanced opportunities we aim to provide. The role is primarily to oversee classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, actively supporting the progress of students and recognising that every lesson is an opportunity to learn. This will include implementing work programmes, assisting students in relevant activities and providing feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement.
The classes you supervise will change on a daily basis and you will be required to promote good behaviour, in line with school policy.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate to a wide range of people. They will be able to work well as part of a team, but also demonstrate initiative and the ability to work alone. Applicants should have experience of working to support children’s learning gained in a relevant environment and demonstrate an understanding of areas of learning, for instance, literacy, numeracy, science etc.
