Overview

Plumpton College is seeking to recruit a Cover Lecturer/Coordinator to join the College in a new role. The Cover Lecturer and Coordinator will oversee all aspects of staff cover, develop and manage the College cover bank register, and be available to deliver high-quality cover lessons when required to ensure that teaching and learning continue in the event of staff absence.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of staff cover and manage the College cover bank register.
  • Deliver high-quality cover lessons when required to ensure continuity of teaching and learning during staff absence.
  • Support across the College’s curriculum areas as needed, with potential involvement in equine, horticulture, butchery or bakery apprenticeships and other areas as required.
Qualifications
  • PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification and experience in secondary or further education.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • As this is a College-wide role, no subject knowledge is strictly required, though a background in one of Plumpton’s curriculum areas would be beneficial.

  • Interest or experience in any of Plumpton’s curriculum areas to support a diverse range of lessons.
