Abbey College Manchester is seeking a Counsellor to work as part of our pastoral team to provide one-to-one counselling to college students from the UK and 30 countries worldwide, starting January 2026 or sooner. The successful candidate will have or be working towards appropriate accreditation with BACP, UKCP, APC, BAAT or similar, and hold or be working towards a postgraduate qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy. A friendly, welcoming and non‑judgmental attitude is essential, and experience of working with young people is required.
Abbey College Manchester was founded in 1990 and has become a leading independent sixth‑form provider in Greater Manchester. There are normally 200‑220 students, about 30 % from the Manchester area and the rest from 40 different countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
