Location: South Africa

Attractive package and benefits with travel and international exposure.

Our global leader client is seeking a seasoned security professional to lead the development and execution of intelligence-led, risk-based security programs across Africa and the Middle East (AME). This role will drive security strategy alignment with business objectives, ensuring proactive threat mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and effective program deployment to safeguard assets, people, products, and information. As the Corporate Security Manager AME, you will champion cross-functional collaboration, promote risk ownership among business leaders, and be a key driver of innovative security solutions. You will also represent the company in external security networks, working closely with government agencies, law enforcement, and industry groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Program Leadership: Oversee the consistent deployment of core security programs, including people and site protection, insider threat management, anti-illicit trade, and crisis response across the AME region. Deliver tangible risk reduction and measurable impact through structured implementation and ongoing program evaluation. Ensure effective reporting on performance, impact, and improvement areas to senior security and business leadership.
  • Intelligence & Investigations: Lead critical investigations involving assets, personnel, proprietary information, and products. Drive intelligence gathering and analysis to proactively address emerging threats such as geopolitical risks and activism. Partner with Compliance, Legal, and IP teams to support investigations, build evidence for litigation, and guide regulatory actions related to post-patent protection.
  • Anti-Illicit Trade (AIT) Program: Drive the AIT strategy across AME by: enhancing communication, awareness, and collaboration internally and externally; improving product protection mechanisms; leveraging intelligence to dismantle major illicit trade operations; supporting governance frameworks, process improvement, and tool adoption; coordinating cross-functional initiatives and monitoring program KPIs.
  • Insider Threat Management: Detect and investigate activities that threaten critical information assets. Collaborate with Compliance to ensure thorough resolution of incidents.
  • People & Site Security: Proactively assess threats, implement risk mitigation strategies, and lead security improvements at critical sites. Promote awareness programs and empower local teams to manage site-level security effectively. Lead responses to critical incidents and manage complex security investigations.
  • External Engagement: Represent the organization in anti-illicit trade associations and forums across AME. Foster partnerships with authorities (customs, police, etc.) to advance investigations and influence security-related legislation.
  • Success Criteria & Challenges: Deliver security programs that enable business units to take ownership of risk. Build trust through consistent execution, transparency, and high ethical standards. Demonstrate strong leadership and accountability in delivering impactful, high-standard security solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven track record in corporate security management, preferably across international markets.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong planning, execution, and project management capabilities.
  • Resilience and effectiveness in high-pressure environments.
  • Desirable: Background in intelligence or law enforcement; active network within security/intelligence communities.
Additional Information
  • Extensive travel across AME is required to lead security program deployment.
  • Occasional participation in external conferences, forums, and industry networking events.
