Salary: £84,176.40

We have a fantastic new opportunity as our Corporate Head of Growth, Sustainability and Asset Maximisation in our Property Services Directorate.

We’re looking for an inspiring and commercially savvy leader with deep expertise in the housing sector, asset management, and sustainable development. In this pivotal role, you will drive the identification and delivery of opportunities to acquire and develop new homes.

You’ll also play a key part in unlocking the potential of our land assets and supporting the strategic rationalisation of properties that no longer align with our current or future needs.

The Corporate Head of Growth, Sustainability and Asset Maximisation is an agile role, embracing flexible working arrangements, with regular presence required in our offices in Grimsby and Boston, and within our neighbourhoods. This is essential for building relationships, supporting teams, and maintaining visibility across the organisation.

What are the key responsibilities as a Corporate Head of Growth, Sustainability and Asset Maximisation?

  • Active participation in the Leadership Team, contributing to organisational performance, financial oversight, and policy development.
  • Develop and implement strategic growth and development plans.
  • Lead sales strategy for new homes and leaseholder requirements, ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Lead sustainability and decarbonisation strategies aligned with national net-zero targets and regulations.
  • Embed ESG principles into asset management and investment decisions.
  • Lead asset reviews to inform retention, disposal, redevelopment, or investment decisions.
  • Engage and influence internal and external stakeholders, including residents, board members, funders, and regulators.
  • Support development and implementation of place-based strategies aligned with community needs.

What skills, attributes, and knowledge are essential?

  • Proven leadership or managerial experience within a growth or development team.
  • Experience in development and asset maximisation in the public sector housing.
  • Successful track record in managing complex development programmes.
  • Knowledge of housing development, financial, legal, and statutory requirements.
  • Experience in appraising and procuring capital projects.
  • Experience with development through S106, joint ventures, land-led development, etc.
  • Ability to engage and lead stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience with bidding for and delivering Homes England funded programmes.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of regeneration and placemaking.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with stakeholders.
