Description

Working in a friendly residential home in Dorking, Surrey.

Some professional cooking experience is preferred.

Pay: £14.80 per hour plus £1.85 weekend enhancement.

Shift times: Bank covering a mixture of shifts, 7.30am - 2.30pm and 12.30pm - 7.30pm with some weekend cover.

Must have flexibility to work any day Monday to Friday and some weekends.

Bank hours as required.

You will be required to
  • Work at all times within the practice taught in the Food Hygiene course.
  • Prepare food for appropriate meals as specified by the menu.
  • Ensure any food prepared looks pleasant, is tasty and kept hot/cold as needed.
  • Ensure food waste is kept to a minimum.
  • Ensure the kitchen is tidy and clean at the end of a shift.
  • Ensure a safe environment for other staff.
  • Ensure fridge, freezers and food temperatures are recorded twice a day.
  • Ensure daily/weekly and monthly cleaning tasks are carried out to a high standard and signed for.
  • Ensure the Better Food Better Business is correct and kept up to date.
  • Report any problems to the Person-in-Charge as appropriate.
  • Gain feedback from residents during meal times.
  • Complete ordering to ensure plenty of stock is available to be able to fulfil the daily menus.
  • Be aware of residents’ nutritional needs and cater accordingly.

Requirements
  • Live in a 10 mile radius of Dorking.
  • Some professional cooking experience preferred.
  • Trained in Food Hygiene and ideally a qualification in Professional Cookery.
