Conveyancing Legal Assistant

Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

TSR Legal are pleased to be representing a well-established and respected regional law firm, who are looking to recruit a Conveyancing Legal Assistant to support an experienced Conveyancer with a caseload of local residential property work.

This role would suit someone with prior conveyancing support experience who enjoys being closely involved in transactions and working within a collaborative, community-focused team.

The Role

You will work alongside a Conveyancer, providing comprehensive administrative and legal support to ensure matters progress smoothly from instruction through to post‑completion. The work is largely local, with a strong emphasis on quality, client care, and long‑term relationships rather than volume.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting a Conveyancer with residential conveyancing matters, including sales and purchases
  • Preparing legal documentation, correspondence, and contracts
  • Opening, managing, and closing files in line with firm procedures
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other solicitors
  • Assisting with post‑completion matters, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications
  • Updating case management systems and maintaining accurate file records
  • General administrative support to ensure transactions run efficiently
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience as a Conveyancing Legal Assistant or similar role within residential conveyancing
  • A good understanding of the conveyancing process
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
  • Able to work effectively as part of a close‑knit team
