Job description

We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in Greater Manchester, who are recruiting for a Contracts Solicitor to join their team on a 3 month contract (with potential for extension following this).

This is a fully-remote, full-time position with an hourly rate of circa. £65.00 / hour, via an umbrella company. This position will be the sole and senior Contracts Solicitor for the Council.

Duties will include (but are not limited to) :
  • Preparing various types of agreements including construction, ICT, Adult Social Care, housing works of various kinds, NDAs, collaboration, management, grant, SLAs
  • Liaising with the Council's external procurement team and working within / advising clients on processes and constitutional requirements (eg delegations and authority)
  • Acting as legal lead on projects with a contracts / commercial slant or property overlap (which require close working with property colleagues)
  • Giving advice on and overseeing project actions and direction, taking forward contracts / commercial elements
  • Providing general advice on agreements and contractual relationships, novation, non-performance / overperformance etc
  • Delivering training to clients particularly on decision-making / governance / process
