We are seeking an experienced AI Software Engineer to join a high-impact programme based in London, working on cutting‑edge AI and LLM‑driven solutions. This is an outside IR35 contract offering hybrid working, ideal for contractors with strong experience building production‑grade AI systems in cloud environments. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying AI‑powered applications using modern frameworks and cloud‑native technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI‑driven applications using LLMs and agent‑based architectures
• Build and integrate workflows using LangChain and/or LangGraph
• Develop robust backend services using Python
• Contribute to frontend or full‑stack development using JavaScript / TypeScript where required
• Deploy, scale, and maintain solutions on AWS
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including data scientists, product owners, and DevOps
• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and maintainability standards expected in SC‑cleared environments

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience as a Software Engineer working with AI / LLM‑based systems
• Hands‑on experience with LangChain and/or LangGraph
• Excellent Python development skills
• Solid experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
• Proven experience deploying applications on AWS
• Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, and cloud‑native development
• Active SC Clearance (must be in place and transferable)

Desirable Experience

• Experience building agentic workflows or orchestration layers for LLMs
• Exposure to MLOps, model monitoring, or AI system observability
• Previous experience working in government, defence, or highly regulated environments

Working Arrangements

• Hybrid working – mixture of London offices and remote
