A government agency in Birmingham is seeking a Continuous Improvement consultant to join its team. You'll lead and support projects aimed at enhancing operational processes. The role requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Candidates must be willing to work in a hybrid format with a minimum of 60% office attendance. As a Continuous Improvement consultant at the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG), you'll join a diverse and forward‑thinking team dedicated to delivering meaningful change across the organisation. The team leads on projects that improve operational processes and enhance the services we deliver to our users. Working collaboratively with colleagues across OPG, you'll support the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence‑based improvements that drive efficiency, quality, and user satisfaction.
The successful candidate will be expected to work from their base location on a weekly basis in line with current Civil Service requirements, outside of any reasonable adjustments. This role may involve occasional travel to Nottingham Embankment House. The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non‑contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity. Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone’s circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review. For nationally advertised role: all successful candidates will be appointed to the nearest viable office nearest to their home postcode and on its respective pay scale. This will be at either a HQ building (subject to desk allocation, a Justice Collaboration Centre (JCC) or a Justice Satellite Office (JSO) – See Map. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity.
The Ministry of Justice offers a flexible working system in many offices. Standard full‑time working hours are 37 hours per week. MoJ welcomes part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs. Lead criteria at sift stage will be: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage, negotiate and willingness to challenge stakeholders when needed. Ability to work with minimal supervision and committed to give a high‑quality performance in all aspects of the role. Ability to problem‑solve through the collating and analysis of information. Experience of using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, Vision, Skype, Teams and other digital tools. Experience of implementing or being involved in a change initiative.
