A leading law firm in Reading seeks a Contentious Probate Solicitor. The role involves managing a diverse range of disputes, benefiting from direct support and mentoring. Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of civil litigation experience and a passion for contention probate. Are you an experienced solicitor with a passion for contentious private client work and looking to take the next step in your career?
A rare opportunity has arisen within a highly regarded and growing specialist team, offering a caseload made up exclusively of contentious probate litigation. You'll handle a broad spectrum of disputes including Inheritance Act claims (both Claimant and Defendant), challenges to the validity of wills, executor and administrator disputes, estate administration issues, Court of Protection matters, and trust disputes.
You'll be encouraged to run your own files while also collaborating on complex, high-value cases. The team works closely with a respected Wills, Trusts & Estates department, ensuring a joined‑up approach to client care. You'll benefit from direct support and mentoring from a Legal 500 Leading Individual in contentious probate, with clear scope for development and progression.
You'll handle a broad spectrum of disputes including Inheritance Act claims (both Claimant and Defendant), challenges to the validity of wills, executor and administrator disputes, estate administration issues, Court of Protection matters, and trust disputes.
The ideal individual will haveh 3-5 years' civil litigation experience, with a strong grounding in contentious probate. Exposure to private client work during training or early career is advantageous, but not essential. What matters most is your enthusiasm for this specialist area and your desire to grow within a supportive, expert‑led team.
