Role Overview

Orbital is looking for a Content Writer focused on multi-format content production specific to Orbital’s product suite, target audience and community engagement. This is a role for someone who can turn scientific ideas into clear, compelling, high-impact writing for a technically literate audience

You’ll own the creation of high-quality content that explains what Orbital does and our products, why they matter and their relevance to industries including data centres and large-scale compute infrastructure. You’ll work collaboratively across the business to originate and create excellent multi-format content — structured, accurate, engaging and insightful.

Key Responsibilities

Own Orbital’s editorial voice, tone and standards across all written content.

• Thought leadership within relevant Orbital industries including Data Centres.
• Act as an editorial partner for Orbital’s team
• Establish editorial processes: briefing, drafting, review and publication.

Content Writing

• Lead the production of high-impact content including: presentations, product specifications, technical blog posts and scientific explainers
• And editorial deep dives connecting materials innovation to data centre performance, energy efficiency, cooling, and sustainability
• Track and interpret developments across AI and data centre infrastructure to inform timely, credible content.

Community Engagement

• Focus on driving engagement throughout relevant audiences spanning across the Data centre, energy and infrastructure sectors
• Relevant content built to enhance Orbital’s positioning with Deep-tech investors and technically fluent decision-makers
• Drive engagement within AI Researchers, Chemist and Engineering communities on a global basis

What We’re Looking For

• Outstanding writing and editing skills, with strong long-form examples
• Comfort writing about deeptech products (e.g. compute, energy, cooling or industrial technologies) for different core audiences including customers, domain experts, etc.
• Strong editorial judgment, intellectual curiosity and attention to detail.
• A builder mindset with a genuine passion to create a foundational content function from scratch.
