A leading mental health service provider is seeking an experienced full-time Medical Director & Consultant Psychiatrist for their hospital in Crewe. The successful candidate will oversee clinical care, manage medical teams, and ensure high quality treatment in accordance with GMC standards. We are seeking an experienced full-time Medical Director & Consultant Psychiatrist who will provide leadership at Cygnet Hospital Nield House, our 29-bed mental health hospital for women in Crewe.
As part of this role, the post holder will also provide senior medical cover care to 14 inpatients on Clarion Ward (our complex personality disorder service for women).
The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required and will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines.

The ethos of our service is about assessing and treating service users in the least restrictive environment and planning for discharge in a robust and timely fashion. With a focus on stabilisation, we will support service users to manage their mental health, reinforce daily living skills and prepare for independent life back in the community.
Our team works closely and collaboratively with service users, their families and the referrer to provide a seamless pathway from referral to discharge. Our approach is recovery focused and supported by comprehensive multi-disciplinary team, contributing to shorter lengths of stay.
The post holder will be the Medical Director at Cygnet Nield House, whilst also being the Responsible Clinician and have overall medical responsibility of patient treatment plans, whilst liaising closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers etc.)
The post holder will be expected to act as a positive role model, maintaining and demonstrating a positive attitude towards patients, their families, visitors and other staff.

This role is based on Clarion Ward, a 14 bed complex personality disorder service for women with a dual diagnosis of personality disorder and co-morbid disordered eating.
As well as being Medical Director for the Hospital, the post holder will be the Responsible Clinician on Clarion Ward, a 14 bed complex personality disorder service for women with a dual diagnosis of personality disorder and co-morbid disordered eating.
Please note the ward will be changing from personality disorders andco-morbid disordered eating to personality disorders only.

This is a full-time position with 0.2 WTE as Medical Director and 0.8 WTE as Consultant Psychiatrist.
