A leading mental health service provider in Bolton seeks a qualified psychiatrist to join their dedicated team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to individuals with severe mental health issues alongside multi-disciplinary teams. Bolton Community mental health teams (CMHTs) provide multi-disciplinary assessment, treatment, and care of individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems.
They service is available to residents of Bolton, aged 16 to 70 years, with a diagnosed functional mental health problem. This typically includes service users with:
Bolton operates a sectorised service. The sectors are defined by GP practice populations within the boundaries of the borough.
The South Sector post covers a population served by GP practices based at Stone hill, Level Chamber 1, Pikes lane, Orient House, Deane Clinic, Wyresdale, St Helen’s Road, Peter House and Stable Fold Surgery. The sectors are reviewed in line with the changing profile of population and reflects the deprivation, referral patterns and throughput to ensure equitability among the four General Adult Community Consultants.

The under 16 population is 60,000 and the over 65 population 40,000. The nominal catchment population therefore for each of the six General Adult Psychiatrists is just under 30,000.
The post holder will be based at the Barnett House, Community Mental Health Team on Weston Street, Bolton, where the other General Adult Community Psychiatrists are also based. He or she will be given an unshared office with a PC and fulltime secretarial support and is also to be supported by a full-time Core Trainee.
