Consultant in Special Care Dentistry – Derbyshire. Permanent, Part Time, 8 PAs. Working pattern: 8 PAs. Pay band: Consultant YC72. Bases: Wheatbridge Dental Clinic, Chesterfield, S40 2AB; Royal Derby Hospital, Uttoxeter Rd, Derby, DE22 3NE. Salary: £105,504–£139,882 per annum, pro rata.

Main duties of the job

About the Role

  • Deliver comprehensive oral care to adults with learning disabilities, complex medical conditions, and challenging behaviours.
  • Use a full range of techniques including behavioural management, inhalation sedation, and general anaesthesia.
  • Provide clinical leadership and a specialist referral service for eligible patients.
  • Support and supervise the training of community dentists, dental core trainees, specialist trainees, and postgraduates.
  • Collaborate closely with the Derbyshire operational leadership team and contribute to services across CDS-CIC as needed.
