Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our expanding team as Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Consultant at NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play an active role within the ENT service, working with a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, surgery, and follow‑up care for both adult and paediatric patients. The post holder will contribute to MDT working where appropriate, participate in on‑call rota (currently 1:6 with prospective cover to 1:8), and be involved in service development, clinical audit, and research. Out‑patient clinics will be delivered at University Hospital Crosshouse and University Hospital Ayr, including specialist clinics such as the middle ear implant clinic, neck lump and head and neck oncology clinics, cochlear implant clinic, and balance clinic.

Qualifications

Applicants must have full GMC Registration and be on the GMC Specialist List in ENT (having undergone higher specialist training) or be able to demonstrate equivalent training and experience. A genuine interest in general adult and paediatric ENT, including Head and Neck Cancer surgery and Cochlear Implant surgery, is required. The role is offered as a full‑time permanent position with sessions on a 10‑person‑a‑week basis.
