A leading hospital trust in the UK is seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist to join their dynamic anaesthetic department. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in general adult anaesthesia and neuro-anaesthesia and will participate in teaching and service development at the Trust. This position offers flexibility for full-time, part-time, or job-share arrangements. Candidates must hold full GMC Registration and demonstrate high clinical competence. Thesuccessful applicants should possess FRCA (or equivalent) and should beincluded on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time ofinterview, if currently within a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointmentregulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the SpecialistRegister.
Applicants should have established skills in generaladult anaesthesia, with experience in Neuro-anaesthesia. Additional skills andexperience in other areas of expertise for the wider department, such as majortrauma, regional anaesthesia and obstetric anaesthesia would be welcomed. Excellentcommunication and teamwork skills, along with a strong commitment to teachingand service development, are essential.
The post-holder will participate in theundergraduate teaching programme for the School of Medicine at the Universityof Leeds, organised on a speciality or clinical area basis. The appointee,along with colleagues, will contribute to postgraduate teaching, including theResident Doctors in Anaesthesia teaching programme within the YorkshireDeanery.
Consideration will be given to applicantswho wish to work full- or part-time, as well as those who wish to job-share.

Inrelation to this post, this appointment will enable us to continue to deliver asafe service for our patients and increase our ability to provide appropriateanaesthetic cover for theatre lists.
2.OBJECTIVES OF THE POST
1. Towork with other consultant colleagues in the provision of a comprehensiveanaesthetic service in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
2. Todevelop and /or consolidate expertise in anaesthesia.
3. Tomaintain and expand the excellence of teaching and research already establishedwithin the Trust.
4. Toservice plans for the specialty, taking account of the changes in clinicalpractice and new technologies available.
