A community health service provider in Leeds seeks a consultant clinical psychologist to lead the neurodevelopmental pathway. This role includes providing leadership, shaping service development, and supporting team members in delivering high-quality care to neuro diverse children and young people. We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled,experienced and dynamic consultant clinical psychologist to work in the LeedsChildren and Young Peoples Mental Health as the clinical lead for ourneurodevelopmental pathway. This exceptional individual will provide clinicalleadership alongside operational leaders to continue to develop the service ata local, regional and national level with cross system partners to encourageand embed a needs led approach when working with neuro diverse children andyoung people. You will also have clinical oversight and leadership of theneurodevelopmental pathway for the entirety of the patient journey. You will bepassionate about the supervision and support of members of the team to deliveron the diverse aspects of their role. You must be HCPC registered. TheNeurodevelopment team is based across Leeds with dedicated team space atParkside Health Centre. The post offers flexibility in terms of office andhomeworking. The post is fixed term to cover maternity leave. A secondment willbe considered.
The postholder will provide compassionate leadershipacross the pathway, which will include: shaping and developing the serviceoffer; embedding high quality training, supervision and consultation forcolleagues (both psychologist and non-psychologists); introducing innovativeways of working; and ensuring user feedback and service evaluation shapeservice development. You will also lead on ensuring clinical governance of thepathway. You will be creative, innovative and decisive, with excellent communicationand interpersonal skills; be able to navigate and excel within a complex andchallenging context to influence and help drive much needed change. With theongoing and significant increase in demand for neurodevelopmental assessmentsand associated wait times, the new role will help us to identify how we offerthe best and most efficient service to support neuro diverse children and youngpeople achieve good outcomes.
You will join a service which prioritizes reflectivepractice, clinical supervision and continuing professional development: youwill both contribute to and benefit from this. You will join an enthusiasticgroup of clinical psychologists which provides professional support,collaborative learning and development opportunities. We have close links withthe University of Leeds Doctoral Clinical Psychology Training Programme andcontribute routinely to teaching and supervision of trainees.
