A leading healthcare provider in Grimsby seeks a part-time consultant cardiologist within a community cardiology service. The consultant will focus on non-invasive investigations and management of cardiology patients. Interested candidates must be registered with the General Medical Council and have significant experience in adult cardiology. This position offers a competitive salary, flexible working hours, and the opportunity to contribute positively to the community's health. Contact details for inquiries are provided.
The Community Cardiology Service is an innovative approach to delivering front line non-invasive cardiology within a community setting. It has been running for ten years and has attracted widespread approval from both referrers and service users alike. It is a community based cardiology service integrated into primary care and is not a secondary care outreach service.
The service is to support the NE Lincolnshire population and is entirely a non-invasive outpatient service with no responsibilities or sessions within secondary nor any within tertiary care. Referrals are received from PCNs and GPs across the county.
The team consists of two part time Consultant Cardiologists supported by a wider MDT team including a senior physiologist; a sonographer; an analysing physiologist; and two CNS and an HCA. There is also full-time administrative and secretarial support.
Facilities include a new state of the art echocardiogram machine, ambulatory BP and ambulatory ECG monitoring including Holter, Kardia and Eclipse extended cardiac rhythm monitoring devices. Dependent upon funding we have ambitions to develop local non-invasive polysomnography as part of the diagnostic work for patients with heart failure and resistant hypertension and perhaps also with class 3 obesity where GLP-1 agonists may have a place in therapy if prescribing criteria are met.
Please note that Care Plus Group are not currentlyregistered to sponsor applicants from outside the EU and EEA.

The service provides clinical opinions, non invasive cardiac investigations, and management advice to primary care for all aspects of adult cardiology but has a particular focus on heart failure and cardiac arrhythmia.
New referrals are received for a widerange of cardiological conditions that include heart failure, cardiacarrhythmias, valvular heart disease, breathlessness, chest pain and generalsupport with cardiovascular risk factor management.
Interested individuals should have an extensive background as an accredited consultant in adult cardiology. Additional accreditation or skill sets in adult general internal medicine would be advantageous given the complex nature of the population served.
Evidence of direct involvement in senior NHS management roles would also be advantageous.
Interested parties should contact Dr Mark Walters, Consultant Cardiologist, at mark.walters@nhs.net or Lisa Revell, CEO, at lisa.revell@nhs.net for further information.
