A leading healthcare provider in Crewe is seeking a Consultant Breast and General Radiologist to support breast imaging services. The role entails a 70:30 split between Breast Imaging and General Radiology, with responsibilities including biopsy procedures and participation in MDT meetings. Full GMC registration is mandatory. The contract consists of 10 PAs with additional allocations for on-calls and teaching.
Applications are invited for a Consultant Breast and General Radiologist based at Leighton Hospital, Crewe. This is a new post to support the increasing demand for breast imaging and cross-sectional imaging.
This post will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to undertake a split role within Breast Imaging and General Radiology, this will be a 70:30 split.
The Breast service is an integral part of the Imaging Department and provides screening services within the NHSBSP alongside a local symptomatic provision. The standalone unit has Siemens Digital Mammographic equipment and Canon Ultrasound. MR breast imaging is provided locally using our 3 MR scanners.
A remote reporting service for CT operates independently from the on-call radiologist between 2000 - 0900 hrs during the week and from 1700 - 0700 hrs at the weekend.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire and West Cheshire and Chester. The Trust provides over 500 beds and employs over 5,100 staff. The Trust aims to deliver high quality planned and emergency care and a broad range of services across multiple sites including Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.
The post is offered at 10 PAs. In addition to the 10 PAs there is 0.5 APAs allocated to cross cover and 0.5 APA for on-calls, reviewed annually as part of the job planning process. DCC: 8 PAs (includes all clinical activity, administration activity, and on-call duties). SPA: 2 PAs per week for teaching, training, CPD, audit, and service development.
