Job summary

A leading construction contractor in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor. You will manage financial and contractual performance of projects, prepare valuations, and control budgets. Qualifications

Overview

First People Solutions are working on behalf of a leading construction contractor with a solid reputation for delivering commercial, industrial, and mixed-use developments across Scotland. Due to continued growth and project wins, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Glasgow. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects at various stages and play a key part in driving commercial performance and cost control.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and report on the financial and contractual performance of construction projects
  • Prepare and submit valuations, cost forecasts, and final accounts
  • Control and monitor project budgets and cash flow
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance
  • Assess variations, value engineering opportunities and risk
  • Provide commercial input to project planning and contract administration
  • Liaise closely with project teams, clients, consultants, and suppliers
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry
  • Familiarity with JCT and NEC forms of contract
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Relevant degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Full UK driving licence
