G3 Systems has an exciting opportunity to hire a Project Manager to support its delivery in Lagos, Nigeria. The role requires the successful candidate to hold NEC3 / 4 commercial awareness and Project Management (MS Project) expertise in the Civil Construction arena.

You will act as the primary point of contact between the Client and G3 Systems, ensuring clear communication and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. Supporting the civil, mechanical, electrical, and construction teams with all aspects of project execution, including compliance with technical documentation, audit requirements, job cost accounting, scheduling, and on‑site leadership towards.

Security Clearance is a must in order to deliver this role. Your pattern of work will be 14 weeks deployed and 3 week leave rotation. This enables a colleague, to potentially claim non‑taxable (NT) status with the HMRC.

For the avoidance of doubt and absolute clarity, the following aspects are essential for any candidate to be considered :

Essential Requirements
  • Passport & Visa
    • Hold a valid passport (minimum 6 months’ validity) and be able to secure the necessary work visa for the designated African host country.
  • Relevant Experience
    • Extensive knowledge of operating under an NEC4 Contract – Engineering & Construction Contract (ECC)
    • Minimum of 5 years’ project‑management experience in mechanical, electrical or construction disciplines
    • Demonstrable track record on international programmes, including stakeholder liaison at senior levels
  • Technical Competence
    • Strong understanding of technical documentation, audit processes and compliance requirements
    • Proficiency in job‑cost accounting, scheduling tools (e.g. MS Project) and construction supervision
  • Communication & Leadership
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to serve as the primary interface between client and delivery teams, and to lead multi‑disciplinary project groups.
  • Mobility & Flexibility
    • Willingness to travel frequently and reside on‑site for extended periods; adaptability to operate in remote or austere environments.
  • Education & Certification
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • Project‑management certification (e.g. PMP or Prince 2) preferred
Task Descriptions
  • As Project Manager you will be the direct point of contact between the client and the company. Based on sites as required in Africa
  • Ability to lead a project from concept stage to completion
  • Provide strong leadership skills and communicate effectively and openly with the Construction management team
  • Point of contact and main liaison with clients
  • Ensure strong and effective management of subcontracts and the performance of subcontractors
  • Responsibility for ensuring the project programme is updated and reflects the deliverables of the project as well as the critical path. Ability to ensure that the programme is updated regularly to reflect developments on site.
  • Ensure that projects are running on time and on budget
  • Providing weekly reports to the Project Director
  • Assess all project risks and record in risk register
  • Alongside Sectional Site Managers, monitor installation / quality on site until project completion
  • Alongside Construction Health and Safety Manager, liaise with QHSE to ensure that all Safety Management Systems are in place and in operation
  • Provide Management of internal / external design team / consultants to meet project deadlines
  • Deal with all resource planning and implement programme changes using Microsoft Project
  • Tender report / analysis / recommendations
  • Develop project scope with design team / client
  • Produce budgets and reports for clients on monthly cycle
  • Chair weekly meeting assigning tasks and monitoring outputs.
  • Coordinate meetings with supply chain to ensure materials and services are on track in line with the programme plan
  • Attend and represent G3 as project lead in weekly and monthly meetings
International Travel

The role will require long term overseas deployment in Nigeria.
