Job Description:

Location: Peterborough / Anglian Water sites

Join the @one Alliance – a collaborative partnership of eight industry-leading companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO) delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme. As we move into AMP8, we are preparing to deliver a wide portfolio of large-scale projects that will shape the future of water infrastructure across the region.

We are currently seeking a Construction Manager to join our offshore team. This is a key leadership role for an experienced professional with a track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects valued at £20 million and above.

Your Purpose

As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for leading construction delivery across major infrastructure schemes. You will ensure buildability is considered from the outset, optimise delivery through planning and innovation, and manage teams to safely and efficiently deliver high-quality outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead construction activities across large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with programme strategy and delivery milestones.

Drive safe, efficient, and high-quality construction methods, including offsite and industrialised construction techniques.

Collaborate with design, procurement, and delivery teams to ensure constructability and reduce time on site.

Develop construction phase plans, manage on-site risks, and oversee all aspects of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Monitor construction performance, costs, and commercial progress, working closely with planners and cost managers to forecast and report.

Facilitate project rehearsals and activity planning to optimise sequencing and identify constraints ahead of time.

Support commissioning and seamless asset handover to Anglian Water Operations.

Lead, develop, and manage construction teams, ensuring performance is aligned to project goals and Alliance behaviours.

Champion innovation and continuous improvement by incorporating new construction techniques and standardised approaches where appropriate.

About You

You’ll be an experienced and confident construction professional with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex infrastructure projects from planning to handover.

You will bring:

Proven experience in delivering large-scale construction projects (£20m+), ideally in the water or utilities sectors.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and drive performance.

Deep understanding of construction methods, buildability, and delivery assurance.

Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards, with a commitment to safe site practices.

Commercial awareness, including cost management, risk mitigation, and change control processes.

Experience with digital project tools and planning systems.

A construction-related qualification and a demonstrable track record of managing complex infrastructure schemes will be essential.

Experience in modern construction techniques and innovation adoption will be highly valued.
