IT & Computing Lecturer

Location: College and Community Sites

Contract: Full-Time/Part-Time

Salary: Competitive

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable IT & Computing Lecturer to join our teaching team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of programmes from Entry Level to Level 3, with potential involvement in higher education programmes (HNC/D) and apprenticeship standards. Learners will include both 14-19 and adult students.

You will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons, supporting learners in achieving their goals, and contributing to the continued development of our curriculum. The role includes teaching, assessment, tutoring, curriculum planning, and liaising with employers, awarding bodies, moderators and partnership organisations. You will also take part in student recruitment, induction, and progression activities, maintain accurate course and assessment records, and support the broader quality assurance processes of the College. Some blended or online delivery may be required.

Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in IT, Computing, Computer Science or a related field
  • A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Strong technical skills, including programming/coding (Python, Java), IT systems, networks and cyber security
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Access; experience with MS Project is desirable
  • Experience delivering IT units such as computer systems, software development, website development and related subjects
  • Understanding of awarding body requirements, assessment practices, and quality assurance procedures
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to support and tutor students effectively
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusive learning
