Salary: Ft650,000 - Ft1000000

Hi, I’m Kieran Smith, Computer Vision Engineering Discipline Lead here at Hawk‑Eye Innovations, and I’m excited to invite you to consider joining our Tracking Tooling Squad as a Computer Vision Engineer.

What Your Day Will Look Like

As a Computer Vision Engineer within the Tracking Tooling Squad, you’ll help develop and maintain tools and applications that support multiple tracking teams across Hawk‑Eye.

You’ll work on a wide variety of projects, from maintaining and modernising legacy systems to building new cross‑platform applications in C++. You’ll contribute to visualisation components that help engineers and analysts make sense of tracking data and support external visualisation projects, such as collaborating with the LTA to help coaches and players understand their data.

You’ll work closely with a small, collaborative team where you’ll gain ownership quickly, influence design decisions, and contribute to products used across sports such as football, tennis, cricket, and basketball.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain tools and applications that support tracking teams
  • Modernise and improve legacy software systems
  • Contribute to cross-platform C++ development and visualisation components
  • Collaborate with developers, data scientists, and external partners to deliver intuitive visualisation tools
  • Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and agile sprints
  • Support testing, debugging, and deployment of new features
  • Show curiosity and initiative in learning new technologies and improving processes
Tech Stack and Skill Requirements
  • Proficiency in C++ (modern standards, ideally C++17 or later)
  • Foundational understanding of multithreading, performance optimisation, and object‑oriented design
  • Experience with cross‑platform development (Windows, Linux, or macOS)
  • Familiarity with Git and Visual Studio or similar IDEs
Bonus Skills

While not required, experience or knowledge in any of the following areas would be a plus:

  • Qt for UI development
  • OpenGL or other rendering/visualisation libraries
  • Python for scripting and tooling
  • AWS or other cloud technologies
  • Databases (SQL or NoSQL)
  • 3D geometry, rendering, or visualisation pipelines
