Compliance Lawyer/Officer

Leading South West Law Firm

I'm currently working with a fabulous well established law firm in the South West. Now looking to add someone into their close knit compliance function. This is a non-fee-earning role, with real influence across the business, we're looking for someone to work closely with Senior Leadership, drive best practice across the firm and act as the first POC for all compliance queries.

The role
  • Provide day-to-day advice to partners and staff on regulatory compliance matters
  • Support the COLP/COFA with risk management and regulatory oversight
  • Monitor changes in legal and regulatory frameworks affecting the firm
  • Draft, review, and update internal compliance policies and procedures
  • Assist with file audits, internal investigations, and thematic reviews
  • Oversee GDPR and data protection compliance, including responding to DSARs
  • Support AML processes, including CDD checks and ongoing monitoring
  • Deliver internal training and guidance on risk and compliance best practice
  • Liaise with external regulators and professional bodies where require
About you

Previous Compliance experience in a law firm (necessary!)

Qualified solicitor or Legal Executive (Bonus!)

Familiarity with SRA standards & Regulations, AML Frameworks

Excellent attention to detail

Strong communication skills
